ICCHP Seminars
Vienna, 30 August 1998

The main purpose of the seminars is to bring people with related interests together before the main conference. Participants will be able to share ideas and developments and establish common ground. All seminars will all be half-day.
Hopefully most people attending ICCHP will also attend at least one seminar and take the opportunity to meet other attendees. Those wishing to attend a seminar will be expected to submit a Position Paper in advance, but participation is NOT selective; the purpose of the submission is just to set out your ideas and to ensure that people with similar interests are brought together. Some participants have already submitted Position Papers, but it is not too late to submit one now if you find a topic of interest.
The planned seminar topics are as follows:

THE WORLD WIDE WEB (SV2)

The Web is clearly a major development in the use of computers and the Internet, and it has been a positive boom for most computer users. However, the more valuable it becomes as part of every-day life, the more of a handicap it is going to be not to have access. Problems of access are due to the form of the interface and particularly to its visual dominance. This seminar will be a chance to review some of the problems of access - and progress being made in overcoming them.
