Teleteaching ´98 is the fourth in a series of IFIP TC3 Teleteaching conferences:

  1. Teleteaching ´90 in Sydney, Australia, July ´90
  2. Teleteaching ´93 in Trondheim, Norway, Aug. ´93
  3. Teleteaching ´96 in Canberra, Australia, Sept. ´96
These conferences have been an excellent opportunity to watch the development of educational use of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in education.
The goal of Teleteaching ´98 is to demonstrate the use of ICT in education in a broad sense. The conference will cover education on all levels from primary school to universities. It will also cover the use in industry and public administration. Special focus will be on Distance Education and Teleworking.
We have received 173 papers from 44 countries around the world. That is a record for IFIP Teleteaching conferences. Based upon these papers, we have set up a diversified program with paper sessions with full papers, short papers and poster presentations. In addition I would like to mention the three invited speakers.
We do also have two special sessions of special interest: a special session on Industry and a special session on the European Union presenting experiences, projects and new programs.

I hope you will find the program interesting and I look forward to meeting you in Vienna and Budapest.
