Abstract:
Zum 7. Mal findet nun die Konferenz des Zentrums für Praxisorientierte Informatik der Donau-Universität Krems zum Thema Information Security statt und noch nie war die Relevanz der diskutierten Themen so aktuell wie heute - technisch, politisch und gesellschaftlich.
Während in den vergangenen Jahren IT-Sicherheit noch vorrangig als Wegbereiter, als Enabler für neue Businessmodelle diskutiert wurde, wird heute dei Vertrauenswürigkeit von IT-Strukturen zur essentiellen Voraussetzung für das Weiterbestehen und für die Skalierbarkeit unserer Informationsgesellschaft.
Der vorliegende Tagungsband umfasst 13 Beiträge aus dem wissenschaftlichen Programm. Alle Beiträge wurden in einem ausgiebigen Peer-Review Prozess ausgewählt. Die qualitativ hochwertigen Beiträge umfassen ein breitgefächertes Spektrum der Informationssicherheit, das sich in den thematischten Foren widerspiegelt.

The increasing use of information and
communication technologies in all member states of the European Union has
triggered off a transformation process in public administrations. This in turn
is also affecting the way governments interact with their citizens and
businesses. New ways of communication and co-operation, service production and
delivery, as well as participation in the policy process and decision-making
are emerging. Various challenges have arisen from these developments, such as
the need for solutions for inclusive, interoperable and integrated service
delivery for citizens and businesses, technology-enhanced participative
decision-making models, and improved democratic processes.
The Eastern European e|Gov Days 2008, which
were jointly organised by the Austrian Forum e|Government of the OCG (Austrian
Computer Society) and EPMA (the Czech European Projects & Management
Agency), aimed to address these issuesand explore solutions.The forum
provides a platform for mutual learning and technology transfer between Eastern
and Western European countries, thereby bringing advantages to the whole
community.
In addition, this publication includes
contributions of the sixth e-Government Konferenz held in Mautern an der Donau,
Austria, in 2008. The aim of this forum is to promote the exchange of good
practices and ideas among Austrian e-Government stakeholders. This year, the
conference focused particularly on the benefits of e-Government for local
administrations. Due to the fact that speakers as well as participants from the
European e-Government community are increasingly getting involved in the
conference, it has grown beyond its originally national focus.
