Certified IT training for visually impaired and blind people

The project IT4Blind makes qualified training and further education of IT trainers for the blind and visually impaired possible. The initiative was started to create a standardised qualification which guarantees a top-quality professional standard. The project partners worked out the syllabus with the relevant examination topics.

There are three examination modules which are relevant for the certification process.

The certification body is the OCG. All requirements to register for the examination are defined in the syllabus (in German only). The dates are published on the OCG website twice a year. Certificates are valid for three years. In order to guaranty the high quality standard, the trainers must participate in relevant further trainings.

The first certification examinations were held in Linz, headed by Klaus Miesenberger (Johannes Kepler University Linz) and in Vienna, headed by Wolfgang Zagler (Vienna University of Technology).
