The Austrian Computer Science Day was founded by Helmut Veith, Monika Henzinger, and Roderick Bloem in 2012. It takes place every year at a different Austrian location to present research in Austria and to give computer scientists the opportunity to network.

The winners of the OCG Sponsorship Awards and the Heinz-Zemanek Prize are honoured at the Computer Science Day.
